WINE SOAKED DISHES: WATERMELON & PINOT GRANITAS!

pinot noir granitas aka semi frozen wine magic

Ingredients
  • 4 cups watermelon chopped
  • 1 cup cherries pitted and roughly chopped plus extra for garnish
  • 2 cups Pinot Noir
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Mint optional garnish
Instructions
Preparation:
  1. Puree watermelon. In a small saucepan heat juice with sugar and cook until just dissolved. Remove from heat and add wine and cherries. Place in a shallow brownie pan and freeze until set. Using a fork flake granita into wine glasses and top with additional floater or pinot, cherries or mint leaves.
