    Honey Lavender Sidecar

This Honey Lavender Sidecar is a delicious and refreshing twist on the simple and classic Sidecar Cocktail. I still remember the first time a tried a Sidecar cocktail. I had met a friend in downtown Portland at this swanky restaurant/bar, El Gaucho, for drinks. She and her other friends were all drinking sidecars and were raving about how good they were. Well, I just had to give it a try. Right? The bartender brought me mine and…. Wow! It was love at first sip. Why had I never tried this glorious liquid before? Had I been living under a rock? That was many years ago but I remember it like…

    Cocktail: Cancun Sunset

I chose the name “Cancun Sunset” for this drink because it reminds me of the beautiful red and orange sunsets of Cancun (and Tequila Sunrise was already taken). I wanted to create a festive drink that was somewhere between a Margarita and a Tequila Sunrise. This drink will be the perfect addition to your Cinco De Mayo cocktail selection. You can make them individually or mix up a big pitcher to share! If you are a fan of Margaritas, you will love this drink. It is so simple and delicious!   Just fill a cocktail shaker half full of ice then add the pineapple juice, strawberry lemonade, fresh lime juice…

    Homemade Liqueurs

The season of giving has arrived and I just love the idea of homemade gift’s. Homemade jams, pickles, infused vinegar and oils, jewelry, soaps and liqueurs. I love them all! Homemade liqueur is so simple to make and is so delicious! My two favorites are Kahlua and Amaretto. Both of these liqueurs are yummy on their own or you can use them to create a mixed drink, pour over vanilla ice cream or add to a cup of hot cocoa. I like to search for pretty and unique bottles for my liqueurs that can be used for other things long after the contents have been enjoyed. I came across these…

    Summer Sangria

Summer is right around the corner. That means hot sunny days and cold sips. One of my favorite summer sips is Sangria. I received this recipe many years ago from a friend who had just returned from a trip to Spain. She made this drink one sunny afternoon at a get together and I instantly fell in love with it. I just had to have the recipe! I have since made this at many summer gatherings of my own and it is always a hit! Cheers to summer! Enjoy! Summer Sangria 1/2 lemon, sliced 1/2 orange, sliced 1/2 apple, diced 1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar 1 bottle red wine, preferably…
