    Lavender Fields Forever

Yesterday morning I decided to do something a little different from the norm. I took an hour out of my day to go spend some time with nature. Not that nature isn’t all around us. I just wanted something a bit different from my usual daily travels. One of the many wonderful things about living in the Portland area is that there so many cool things to see just a few minutes from the city. I decided to take a trip out to a Lavender farm and pick some fresh Lavender. It was only about a ten minute drive from where I live. As I drove out there, I passed…

    Happy Birthday Oregon!

Today is Oregon’s 159th Birthday! If you have never been to Oregon, it is a must see. There are so many things to do and see. The scenery here is absolutely beautiful!   Portland is Oregon’s largest city and is listed in the top 10 of foodie cities in the US. And I have to agree. The food here is amazing! So is the Wine and Beer. Most of the restaurants in Portland have a farm to table mentality, using mostly local and seasonal ingredients. There are many beautiful things to see within the city. Check out Pittock Mansion and it’s amazing view of the downtown area. Or the Rose…

Road Trip to Seattle: The Eagles, Pumpkin Muffins and Pike Place Market

It seems that as we get older, time just seems to fly by like the wind. A gust (life happens) comes along and before you know it another month has just flown by. Where did it go? what the heck happened? Wasn’t it just October 1st yesterday!?? Since time is definitely not standing still, I have decided to start marking things off that bucket list. My list is quite long so, if i’m going to see and do all of the stuff on my list, I need to get moving on this thing. The Eagles happen to be one of my all time favorite bands and I…

    Wine Wednesday: Fairsing Vineyard

A couple of weeks ago my friend Antoinette and I took a trip out to wine country. She needed to deliver some flowers and a thank you card to the owner’s, Mary Ann and Mike at Fairsing Vineyard. The week prior, Mike, had rescued her after getting her car stuck in the mud just down the road from the winery. When she asked if I would like to go with her, well…… of course I said yes! Road trip, girl time and I get to taste wine. What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon? Fairsing Vineyard is about a 40 minute drive from Beaverton (Portland suburb), where I live.…

    Grape Gravy! Is now: Eat-Live-Happy

Hello Friends, I have decided to change the name of my blog Grape Gravy! to: Eat-Live-Happy. Why? you ask. I was feeling that Grape Gravy limited what I was able to write about and share with you all. While I will continue writing about food and wine, I wanted to be able to include other things like travel, art, music and anything else that brings happiness into life. Thank you so much for following my blog . I truly appreciate all of you! And hope that you will continue to join me on this food, life and happiness journey. Cheers! Angela
